Portfolio and Blog keep what weblabor.mx shows on its portfolio and blog pages. You write each entry once, in Spanish, and the system translates it into the other languages of the site by itself.
You see them in the Web page group of the side menu if you have access to Contact Messages: the same people see both.
Write an entry
- Open Portfolio or Blog and click Create.
- Write the Title, a short Summary for its card and the Text, with headings, lists, links and images like any other description of the panel.
- A work of the portfolio also takes its Industry, its Service, chosen from the services of the site, the Date of the work, an optional Link to what was made, its Image and, if you want, the internal Project it was made for, which the site never shows. An article takes its Category, its Publication date and its Image.
- Leave Slug empty to make the address from the title, or write it yourself. Once saved, it never changes, so the address stays the same.
- Click Save as draft to keep it hidden, or Publish to show it on the site.
While the form is saving, the buttons dim and a spinner shows beside them.
Its translations
As soon as you save an entry, the list shows one more row per other language of the site, under the entry, with its Language, Translation of, which names the entry it comes from, and its Translation state:
- Pending: the system is translating it. It takes a moment and you do not have to wait for it.
- Ready: it is translated.
- Failed: the translation could not be made. You get a notification that names the entry and the language.
- Edited by hand: someone corrected it.
A translation uses the same image, dates, link and service as its entry, and has its own address, made from its translated title.
Change an entry
When you change the title, summary, text, industry or category of an entry, its translations are made again. If it already has translations, the panel first tells you how many and asks you to confirm. Changing only the image, a date, the link or whether it is published translates nothing again.
To correct a translation, open it and save your changes: it becomes Edited by hand and is no longer made again by itself. Click Regenerate on it to have it translated again from its entry, for example after a Failed one.
Publish or hide it
Publishing an entry publishes its translations; saving it as a draft hides them all. A translation is never published on its own. On the site, each language shows an entry only when it is published and its translation is Ready or Edited by hand.
Delete an entry
Deleting an entry deletes its translations too. If it has any, the panel tells you how many before you confirm.
Check languages
Click Check languages on Portfolio or Blog to ask for every translation that is missing, for example when the site gains a language. The panel tells you how many it asked for.
On the site
The portfolio and the blog are in the menu and the footer of weblabor.mx. The portfolio shows its works from the newest, twelve per page, and can be filtered by service and by industry; the blog can be filtered by category. Each entry has its own page. The page of each service shows its three latest works and a link to the whole portfolio filtered by that service. The old addresses of the previous site take visitors to the same pages.
