Weblabor Admin shows every date and time in the time zone of the person who reads it. Two people in different cities see the same moment at their own local hour. This guide shows where your time zone is set and what follows it.
Change your time zone
- Open the menu at the top right and choose My Profile. The page is titled Manage profile.
- In Language and time, choose your zone in Select Time zone. The zones are listed by region and city, such as
America/Mexico_City. - Click Save. You see Language and Timezone updated correctly.
Both the language and the time zone are required there.
People who can edit users can also change anyone's zone in the Time Zone field of the Users form; see Manage users. There it is typed by hand, with the same names, and a name that is not a real zone is refused. A person created from the Users form, from its import, or by hiring a candidate starts on Mexico City time.
When a person has no time zone, they see everything in Mexico City time.
What follows your time zone
- Moments: when something happened, such as when a record was created or updated, the last time someone signed in, or the start and end of a time entry, are shown at your local hour.
- Times you type: the start and end of time you add by hand are read in your zone. See Track your time.
- Your today: the default date of a form, the days a date filter covers, and when a milestone can be marked as achieved follow your own calendar.
Dates that are only a day, with no hour, are the same for everyone and never move: a payment's date, a sprint's start and end dates, or a task's due date, for example.
Changing your time zone only changes how dates are shown to you. Nothing already saved changes.
